Oh to be Prime Minister

So let me get a couple of things straight

I didn't vote conservative, I didn't vote for Brexit, neither was I particularly pleased that Boris Johnson was leader of the conservatives ergo: He was the Prime minister.

But what a couple of years he's had to lead us through!

Brexit alone was a mountain to climb, but that was just the beginning

Covid

Fatherhood

More Covid

Parties

Covid yet again

The threat of WWIII and nuclear war

2019 seems so long ago

Yet still he remains. The man has been attacked mercilessly, which you can understand with so many topics to have to contend with that literally splitting the country right down the middle

Not to mention Sturgeon and Drakeford. This pair seem utterly determined to take a different direction to the Prime minister no matter what he does.

Now I don't mind them deciding on a different path for Scotland and Wales if they thought it was in the best interests, but one can't help thinking they're only doing it to spite Boris, just to be different, just so they can act all pious and hint that Boris is yet again wrong.

Who can forget Kier Starmer naming a Covid variant the "Boris" variant

Who can forget Boris pushing back against this constant barrage against him by chucking the Savile debacle at Starmer only to have it thrown back in his face wrongly once again when far left imbeciles harrass Starmer outside parliament only for the media to claim it was a far right attack instigated by Boris' words

You can't make this up! It's incessant, but this war of disinformation has been going on for years

Now Putin is playing his hand in a bid to put the gang back together in terms of the USSR what do the commies do? They now label this as far right. You could not make this up. An end game communism/authoritarian regime is in actual fact far right.

I shit you not

One of my favourite authors is George Orwell, Like my other favourite author Dickens I've read everything they've written. But the beauty of Orwell, is not that he was a socialist (The road to Wigan pier) who wrote with tremendous prose about the benefits of socialism and how we need to open our eyes to the suffering of the working classes, he was also able to see the dangers of the far left socialism (Animal farm) Culminating in yet another masterpiece of literary work (1984) which exposed extremism on both sides. Authoritarianism/totalitarianism/censorship.

The problem with extremism today is many don't realise they're actually extremist's themselves. When the far left lunatics mock people of a more centrist position for quoting Orwell and claiming they haven't read Orwell it does raise a smile in me, they can't see how far left they actually are. Orwell was a socialist, not a communist. This problem isn't exclusive to only the left end of the political spectrum. But it exists in vastly more abundance on that wing.

The problem with socialism is you need capitalism to pay for it.

One of the biggest problems we see today is a basic lack of understanding in where the far left (and indeed the far right) actually begin.

The far left see Boris as a far right fascist whereas the right see him as a classic Liberal far too close to populist centrist ideas.

He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. Not a first for a British politician but how well has he actually done?

History will judge him well. Not only has he got Brexit done, he's also steered this country through a pandemic (still ongoing) and now he's taken his place on the world stage in standing up to Putin

Whilst Britain's initial response to the pandemic got off to a rocky start (which for me is perfectly understandable seeing nobody had a clue what was happening or how it was going to pan out) He also ensured a very smooth vaccine rollout (a victory denied him just because the far left don't like him)

And now, he's delivering well on the World stage. He's asking what Ukrainian's actually want and he's delivering while the far left are continuing to attack him because they seem to have a better idea of what the Ukrainian's want than the Ukrainian's themselves. They have consistently asked for weapons and safe haven for refugees in neighbouring countries and Britain is doing extremely well in delivering their wishes.

What have the far left demanded? "open borders and visa's for all Ukrainian's"

Great! Except that's not what they want. Very soon they hope to return to their home country and to rebuild it. Can we please concentrate our minds on giving them that instead of a life in Britain they clearly don't want.

Recently, I saw a clip on YouTube, Boris had visited a catholic Ukrainian church and lit a candle in solidarity with their people. He received a standing ovation amid a chorus of thanks. I couldn't help thinking in that moment he finally got some gratitude he so richly deserved, I hope he enjoyed it.

I never voted for Boris Johnson, he has made mistakes. He has said things that have made me cringe and groan (what politician hasn't) and I'm sure he will fluff many more times as he leads this country, but I will say this

Thank you Boris, you ARE my Prime Minister and you have given our country some great service.
